The US Supreme Court has approved Texas’s revised congressional map, allowing the state to proceed with district boundaries that could create up to five additional Republican-leaning seats in the 2026 elections. The Court stated that the lower court had overstepped by intervening during an active election cycle, disrupting the balance between state and federal election oversight.
