In a story worthy of its own movie, “K-Pop Demon Hunters” has gone from being an ambitious animated project to the undisputed champion of Netflix. The K-pop musical has completed an incredible journey to become the streaming service’s most-viewed film of all time.
The film’s championship title was earned with a staggering 236 million views, a figure that knocked the heavyweight favorite, “Red Notice,” from the top spot. This underdog victory over a film starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot has been celebrated as a win for original storytelling.
While it holds the belt for most views, it has the bronze medal for total minutes watched. Its 23 billion minutes are behind the longer films “Red Notice” and “Don’t Look Up,” but its status as the people’s champion remains secure.
The film’s triumphant journey also included conquering the music world, with four of its songs becoming top-10 Billboard hits. With a sequel already planned, the next chapter in this incredible underdog story is eagerly awaited by millions of fans.
