The story begins with a requiem for a murdered priest. The first teaser for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery sets a somber, mournful tone, as the death of a clergyman becomes the catalyst for a thrilling investigation led by Benoit Blanc.
Daniel Craig returns as the detective who must look past the grief to find the truth behind the “impossible” murder of a priest played by Josh Brolin. The teaser suggests a film that will balance its moments of quiet reflection and sorrow with the high tension of a classic whodunit.
The cast of mourners, any of whom could be the killer, includes Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, and Mila Kunis. Blanc, with his new, more formal suit and longer hair, appears as a figure of respectful authority, there to ensure that justice is served alongside the final rites.
The film has already held its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The public can attend this cinematic requiem when Wake Up Dead Man opens in select theaters on November 26th, before streaming on Netflix on December 12th.
