U.S. President Donald Trump has set a strict four-day deadline for Hamas to accept a sweeping 20-point peace plan aimed at ending the Gaza conflict. Speaking from outside the White House, Trump warned that failure to comply would lead to a “very sad end” for the militant group.
The president described the proposal as the last real chance to stop the ongoing devastation, stressing that it has strong international support. He also made clear that Israel has been authorized to act forcefully if Hamas refuses. “If not—Israel will do what it needs to do,” Trump declared, hinting at a severe military response.
The peace plan calls for Hamas to halt all attacks, disarm, and relinquish political control of Gaza. In return, Israel would withdraw its military presence, release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, and allow the return of all hostages currently held by Hamas.
Another cornerstone of the deal is humanitarian relief. The agreement promises unrestricted aid to Gaza’s population, addressing acute shortages of food and medicine. It also outlines plans for large-scale reconstruction to rebuild the war-shattered region.
Hamas has acknowledged receiving the proposal and says it will consult with other Palestinian factions before announcing its decision. With the deadline fast approaching, the international community is watching closely to see whether this ultimatum ushers in peace or escalates into an even more destructive phase of conflict.
